Hi everyone I'm new here,
Im sorry if this has already been answered in another forum (if so please link), I had a car SMEG headunit retrofitted (one with carplay not android auto) into my 2014 peugeot 208 that did not have carplay.
If I knock the USB it keeps kicking carplay off (I will replace this and probably the cable to the unit).
But before I do this my main concern is when I have maps working and try to make a phone call, on the other end of the phone I just sound like a dalek and I have to put it on the call app or spotify (so maps isn't open) in order to have the phone call, which obviously means navigating when I don't know the roads is pretty difficult.
Does anyone know of a fix to this? could it be a firmware issue or the devices processing power to run both at the same time? This happens on both apple and google maps and calls from whatsapp or normal calls.
I haven't tried a wireless dongle yet which is another option, but it is definitely not the usb cable to the iPhone (or the length of the cable).
One thing to note is sometimes when on the maps the texutre goes very distorted (mainly in fields), but it doesn't happen all the time, incase this makes a difference.
Thanks in advance
Tom
