Hi All

I recently had the High Pressure Fuel Pump replaced due to misfire and is all working okay but I realised when driving it won’t rev past 5,000 RPM only when in gear. Is this a normal thing to happen when this part is new and just wearing it in or do I need it to be checked by the garage again?

Thanks for reading

Hi mate.

If it's a 1.2 puretech I think I should be fine. Mines the same in neutral doesn't pass 5,000 but in gear I can redline it.

I assume it's the same as most with some sort of limiter when in neutral.

Hi no sorry it’s a GTi, when I go so far up in the revs say in 6th gear @ 4,500rpm the service light comes on. Only started happening after I had the HPFP replaced

Cheers
