Hi Guys!

Just got a 208 recently and looking to just slightly upgrade the speakers.

Im the first to admit I don't know to much on the car front, but the guy at Halfords said to find out if im likely to need a speaker adaptor for any new speakers, as they were unsure unless they took the whole door panel off?

Anyone know anything about this or if it requires one at all, as he also said it might not need one and if so they can just put the speakers straight in??

Thanks in advance guys :)

Hi & welcome ...
This is a great mod to do & you don't need an adaptor (although Duffy made his own I didn't use any )
I would not use Halfrauds though , there will be a independent car stereo fitter near to you , spend a little time finding someone & checking reviews then go & speak to the guys in the shop they can advise much better than the halfords peeps !!!!
Myself & duffy have threads up showing the door without any furniture on !!

As Mark said do not go to halfords. They take on average 45 mins to take a headlight bulb so god knows how they are going to do the speakers. Also the stuff they have is poor. A car ICE/Audio specialist is the street to head down. Can advise you on whats best etc. An adapter will be required on pretty much all aftermarket speakers as the fitting is different unless you can get a straight fitting speaker. Or putting some self tappers through the door to make the new holes. Another adapter will be required if you wish to keep the original wire plug but to hell with that, get the side cutters out.
