Just got a letter from peugoet Denmark
They want to make a "Quality control" regarding the brakes.
Question is if it is a service or it is a detected failure they have to fix?
Anyone else got this letter from Peugoet?
have not had a letter from Peugeot but considering my car has only done 3500 miles both rear brake disks are heavily ridged and need replacing hopefully under warranty, I went into my dealership in Morecambe a couple of months ago to complain of grinding brakes and they said they could find no fault or hear any brake noise on road test and inspection which I find hard to believe but accepted it at the time. my car is due its first service this month and I will query the brakes again failing which I will have them inspected and repaired by a brake specialist and send the bill to Peugeot. by the way my car is a 1.4vti petrol 5 door allure on a 12 plate in blossom grey.
Will look out for this in Sweden... haven't received any recall/control notice yet, but I've noticed scoring on the discs and noiseat lower speedsbut not overly concerned since the brakes are very effective. If it's disc wear that's an issue I'm sure it's going to be covered under warranty.
I sent my allure 3 door ehdi 92 back after barely covering 3000 miles as rear brakes were badly pitted and rusted so much so that they seized on when I left car at gatwick to go on a stag do for three days. Dealer cleaned them up best they could but still sounds like a metallic noise when driving as if they are binding
The brakes on my 208 are now letting off a putrid smell that I've never smelt before and the car also pulls to the side when slowing down which i need my foot virtually flat on the floor to do so, this is at just below 5,000 miles. It's going back to the dealer Wednesday
Hi, same problem, I bought my 208 in December 2012, and I had to take it for repair to due failure with the front brake, after only 7 months I believe they should have been under warranty, I have not been informed yet for the price, because the warranty stopped at 6000 miles, and I have only done 6300 miles, the customer services has to approve now if I can get a faulty brake replaced and don't have to pay for providing a faulty vehicle, what a joke
