I have a similar problem. Not sure if it's the same as yours. For me, the power steering feels a bit stiffer than it used to. I used to be able to turn the steering wheel with one finger. Now I can't. When thr steering wheel is straightening up, if I let go at about 90 degrees away from the center, the wheel continues to straighten, then a few inches before it's central, it jerks 3 or 4 times back to the central position.

I don't know if the motor is failing or if something is stiff, but it's a very parculiar feeling whenever I am straightening up as I come out of a turn as ot should be smooth on the steering wheel but it most certainly is not.

It doesn't feel overly heavy. Just heavier than usual and a bit sticky.
