Peugeot 208 active hdi 1.4 2014, does my car have brake pad warning lights, cant see anything in handbook about it, just that i asked my local garage when do i know my brake pads front/rear need changing, he said a warning light will come on, i think this is incorrect on my car, can anyone confirm this please, i need to know as on the full service recently, they said pads were amber but still ok, thx

Thx for quick reply, and confirmation, the service report actually showed green for the pads, i guess that means quite alot of wear left on them, its just that the car has already done 40,000 miles, we only had car for 2 years thou, so maybe the people before changed the pads ? or can pads do 40,000 miles and still be green in report ? thx

Depends on how you drive. My 208 had front pads/discs changed at 41k, and rear pads at 43k... But mine is an auto, so I don't have the luxury of engine braking that a manual 208 does... Plus I have a tendency to brake late... :sneaky:

Do you have a good relationship with the dealership?

The service team at Arbury L' Spa (my dealership) gave me an approximate date range for the replacement, for the rear pads when I had the front discs / pads replaced, and I have to say that they were accurate on the timescale.

Only used them for the first time, have mot in june, hopefully pads should be ok if they said they were green on recent service report.

If you're worried, ask the dealership to check the pads when the car is in for the MOT. That way, at least you have peace of mind.
