Hey everybody, my problem is this:
Sometimes the car does not start and I have to turn the ignition key up to 20 times until it does. The car always starts as soon the starter motor (or whatever it´s called in english) starts turning. The alternator seems to work as the voltage over the battery poles raises from 12.4 up to 14.3 Volts.
My local Peugeot Dealer and workshop says that the 208 model must not stand parked for more than two weeks due to the electronics in the car. But I use the car almost on a daily basis and drive for 30 minutes each time. Can this construction miss be solved by updating the computer of the car? Does it simply leak current? A french error. But problems are worse in humid or cold weather. I changed battery a year ago and things were fine until last summer. But not as bad as now.
I´ve also changed the battery inside the key. Jumper cables always fixes the problem. I wonder if the system requires a certain amount of power from the battery for even the petrol pump to start. But a friend says it probably works because it ticks.
Very thankful for some insight on this weird stuff. Thanks /Linda
