Hi guys.

I'm new to the forum having just traded in my beloved Peugeot RCZ 156THP today in exchange for a Rioja red Peugeot 208 GTi.

The RCZ simply had to go as it was totally impractical (the back seats) and was rather an impulse purchase (very me).

I LOVE he way my RCZ drives and really really hope that the 208 GTi lives up to my expectations when it arrives 4-6 weeks time).

My question is has anyone else moved from an RCZ into a 208GTi and how to you feel about it retrospectively?.

Kind regards

Andrew

Another RCZer! Me too! You from the RCZ forum aswell? There are a few of us swapping/swapped the Z for a GTI. All going well with final figures, I.e. settlement figures for the Z, I should be placing my order on Monday. Slightly apprehensive I have to say, I LOVE my Amber. No-one will turn heads towards a GTI like they do for her............

That was I was thinking ....so many people stop and just stare at the RCZ and I'm gutted to trade her in but it's just not practice for me anymore.....anyway.....I've plumped for the GTi 208 in Rioja red (haven't even test driven one) so have taken a bit of a gamble....what colour have you gone for?

Well...that's the million dollar question! All set on the rioja with the white grill flash (the Prestige edition) but I saw a Satin (a.k.a. RCZ Pearl) white on here tonight and it is lush! But there are already 6 white cars in our cul-de-sac and I want to be different. After 3 years of having Amber, I have yet to see another Amber and she's still a conversation starter in the pertol station forecourts. But like you, she was a scratch that needed itched! I knew as soon as I saw the release pictures of the RCZ, I HAD to have one. Pretty much thought that when I saw my first GTI. I had a 207 before the RCZ and I do want a smaller car again. I fret all the time taking the RCZ into the city ..and I've never taken her into a multistorey...all those high kerbs to scuff a 19" wheel on, argh!

Lol...tell me about it my poor RCZ has had its 19" alloys refurbished twice and I've only had it two years. ... Sounds like you had a similar journey to me. I had a 207 before the RCZ ...I also had a 107 before that (not quite the same as the RCZ from a casual observers opinion)
I was a bit peeved at the trade in price for my RCZ (156THP GT)...24500 miles and only 13k trade in against the GTi but I guess that's the price you may for having a new car

My dealer offered to clear the outstanding finance on my 61 Hdi GT, 24K ...... £14250 :) couldn't really turn that down hearing what some others have been offered. Could'nt risk trying to sell privately. Knew I couldn't get rid of it , even for peanuts. Such a shame for an awesome car. Tears will be shed on handover day, I just know it!

I was told we'd be looking at 8 weeks delivery. Don't want less than that, want to hold onto the RCZ for as long as I can.

I'd have another RCZ if I could afford it, maybe wait 3 years for and pick up an RCZR, their residuals are shocking too!

Hi & welcome
I came from a TT-S , similar to the RCZ as they are both low & sporty but

I love the way the GTi drives compared to the TT , I don't think you will be disappointed

Wow Mgauky, that does surprise me. I can understand the transition between RCZ and GTI as there is nothing else within the Peugeot range that can compare with it. But Audi however, you could have gone S3, RS3, S4, RS4. We Pug people do tend to be overly loyal sometimes .... but then again I'm about to have my 5th, never had a bad one so why change away (although I ALMOST went Mini)......

I only had the Audi 6mth (3 years old) in that time it was returned to Audi 4 times for warranty work , when i booked it in for the 5th I was fed up & gave it up as a bad job

Check out my Newby thread for a list of my previous chariots

Ah yes, we've all had some howlers!! Was your Feesty the ugly one? I had a 96/N Si in green... the ones with the massive bumpers, I did love it!

For me it was 84/B Fiesta 1.1..... 94/J Clio 1.2...... 96/N Fiesta Si 1.6 ...... 96N Escort TDLX (what a SHED that was) and then into my Pugs since......

...sorry, hijacked the thread a bit there!

I traded in my RCZ 200 Sport last May for my GTI, not regreted it once, it dosn't get the admiring looks that my Z got but it has more go than my Z, ins is 3 groups lower and MPG is much better. Plus somebody can sit in the back! I enjoy driving the GTI more than the RCZ.
