Hi- I have just bought the new 208 and thought I’d take it to be washed in the sun. Turns out you can’t lift the wind wipers without scratching the crap of on the bonnet paintwork!!

It’s also a button ignition, so I can’t even get the wipers to end mid cycle to lift them. Am I being an idiot or is this a massive oversight.

This confused me when I got mine but once you switch the ignition off, before the ECU goes to sleep press the wiper stalk down once that should put the wipers at 12 o'clock position and make it possible to lift off the screen.

Once you have done put the wipers back on the windscreen and start the car up and press the wiper stalk again it should return to normal.

I thought they would have changed this in the mk2 models. Its one of the small things that I've always hated about the car.
