Coil Failure

Okay ,from another thread of mine about something else thought I would post the coil failure codes from obdII.

So the spark plugs fail on the 208 gti which demands the coils to work harder which eventually knackers the coils. You have 4 plugs and 4 coils. Below are the fault codes and description of fault.

You will have orange CEL and notice you are running on 2 cylinders apart from having serious lack of power, you can also notice by exhaust note tell you this as you sound like a Subaru boxer engine, car doesnt rev, uneven tickover, fans will be constantly on when driving after choke is no longer required.

P1336 Powetrain = Cylinders misfire (non specific).

P1340 Powertrain = Cylinder misfire no.4.

P1339 Powertrain = Cylinder misfire no3.B2AAA = Nuisance /Nonsense code(Ignore)A set of coils and plugs in the UK should set you back around £120. A mechanic may charge up to £280 parts & labour to do this for you.
Plugs are NGK 5992(approx £39 for 4), which are rated to last 15000-20000miles on a stock setup, Approx stage tunes for life span of plug are stage 1 =10'000-12'000miles, Stage 2=6000-10'000 miles, Stage3=4000-6000miles, Stage4=Replace after every drive<strong ="bigblack"="">

[/B]Just about to fit my 3rd set of coils and plugs in 11months.
