Ordered the 1.4 VTI Active (5 door) in Virtual Blue on 28th August. Was told by dealer we would get the car in the last week of September. We haven't ordered any extras.

Can anyone tell me if Peugeot's delivery estimates are usually accurate? Haven't heard from the garage apart from to be told when I called last week that there wasn't a registration yet. When is the registration usually generated?

Thanks

Depends very much on th dealer and also whether car is coming from stock or a build - if they are estimating end of septemebr I guess it is from stock somewhere as that woudl be quick if it was a new build. Maybe you shoudl check with delaer if it is coming from stock or if new build they should be able to tell you current build date - this can change though !

Now saying build date is end of September with deliver mid to end October. Not impressed! Paperwork says delivery 26th September. Do not know what they have been doing for the last month!!!

If the spec of car, colour and any options you have added are not a car in stock with a peugeot dealer already then it will be a order placed to the factory. This will give a significant delay. We ordered our car Feline THP 156 with no added options at end of June once car was actually released and it was possible to have a test drive. We were originally given a build date for 18 July, then got put back, cant remember exact date, then got put back till 29 August. The peugeot factory in france shuts down for 4 weeks in August, hence the month delay. 3rd build date was kept to, about a week later the car was at Calais awaiting transit, arrived in uk the following week and we picked car up on Friday. Changes to build date are not in your dealer's control but theyshould have known that if it was not already in stock and was going to be a factory order that 4 weeks was unrealistic. If they have given you a specific build date, if you have not heard anything from them a couple of days after the date then chase them up for an update. Once confirmed it is built you will probably get it around 3 - 4 weeks later. This is common to most manufacturers if factory build so dont be disheartened.

Have to agree that if they knew it was an order from factory then 4 weeks is not very realistic. Give them a call and see what stage of the build it's in. Should be able to give a rough guess of how long it will be after then.
