Best i've seen from mine is 42mpg ,that was on a 250 mile trip down suoth !! but to be fair i very rarley watch my consumption ... The GTI is about fun not how many miles per tank ....Go for a test drive ..... You will soon see the light ...

Hi, i currently have a 208 style 1.4 diesel. i can get 60mpg and roughly 550 miles to the tanki am thinking of getting something a little bit more fun and have never owned a petrol before. i would love to get a gti but want to know what calm driving in the gti prestige will get mpg wise.i cant afford 2 cars but something fast for weekend but something that can be driven nicely during the week. i average at 500 miles per ...
